Ruhunu Kurakkan Flour 400g
Type: 100% pure, finely ground finger millet flour (Kurakkan Piti).
Texture & Flavor: Fine, rustic flour with a deep, earthy aroma and a distinctively rich, nutty, and slightly robust flavor profile.
Role: A highly nutritious, iron-rich, and high-fiber traditional island staple used to create wholesomely dense, slow-digesting morning meals and rustic breads.
Best Used For:
Traditional Kurakkan Thalapa: Slowly whisking the flour into boiling water with a pinch of salt, stirring continuously until it cooks down into a thick, smooth, and dense ball, traditionally served alongside a fiery fish or meat curry.
Nutrient-Dense Rotti: Mixing with grated coconut, diced red onions, green chillies, and a little water to pat out onto a hot griddle for a rustic, filling breakfast rotti.
Healthy Steamed Staples: Blending with a small amount of wheat flour or rice flour to steam inside a bamboo or metal mold for deep-colored, fiber-packed Kurakkan Pittu, or whisking into a smooth hopper batter.
